May 31, 2006 - Moderate Republicans?

According to an Associated Press story, moderate Republicans are struggling to hold on. The real question is are there any moderate Republicans left?

The religious right has taken the GOP over. The Party looks nothing like it did 10 or 20 years ago. What the hell happened to moderates in the Republican Party? Did they forget how to fight for their beliefs?

Good thing there is still a Libertarian Party.

May 31, 2006 - Political Jobs Updated

May 30, 2006 - Finally!

Members of Congress, on both sides of the aisle, have been circling their wagons around a congressman who happens to be a crook who was caught on video taking a $100,000 bribe.

Finally, on Sunday, according to published reports, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said he had talked the issue over with Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and concluded that the FBI acted appropriately.

"I don't think it abused separation of powers," Frist said on "Fox News Sunday." "I think there's allegations of criminal activity, and the American people need to have the law enforced."

Finally, someone in Washington not trying to protect a crook. Way to go Senator Frist!

May 25, 2006 - Your government at work.

The Washington Times reports, “A mock hurricane exercise in Louisiana was abruptly canceled in the middle of the drill when local and federal officials disagreed over who was in charge of evacuating the largest federally operated trailer park of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita evacuees near Baton Rouge.”

Now the question is, who gets the blame if another hurricane hits?

May 24, 2006 - Why circle the wagons around this guy?

Fact! Congressman William Jefferson was caught on tape taking a $100,000 from an FBI informant.

Now, even Republican members of Congress are circling the wagons and complaining over the fact this guy's office was raided by the feds.

Sorry, but we cannot believe if Jefferson were a Republican the Democrats would defend him.

May 22, 2006 - He hid the money in the freezer.

Congressman William Jefferson of Louisiana hid bribe money in his freezer. Rather than waste a lot of time on this today we'll ask one simple question: Why has this guy not been charged?

He is on tape, video and audio. One would think this guy is easier to get than Tom DeLay.

May 21, 2006

Congressman William Jefferson, A Democrat in Louisiana, was caught on videotape accepting $100,000 in $100 bills from an FBI informant.

According to at least one news report, at one audiotaped meeting he was heard chuckling about writing in code to keep secret what the government contends was his corrupt role in getting his children a cut of a communications company's deal for work in Africa.

We agree, this is news but, considering he is not a Republican we have to ask: How soon before this news story disappears?
